What is a Welsh K?

The Welsh K is the Dutch part-bred Welsh registry.  It is similar to the half Welsh registry in the United States.  Power was imported from Holland where "riding ponies" are bred with infusion of Welsh, Thoroughbred and other old lines in order to produce the best riding type.  Power is over 62% Welsh blood by pedigree with enough TB to add length of leg and athleticism. The combinations of these bloodlines are well thought out, much like the full size versions of European Warmbloods.  This makes the riding pony a versatile and athletic animal.  Power's bloodlines have been proven to especially excel in the hunter ring in the United States.  However, he has a strong pedigree that would be suitable for breeding for many disciplines.

Verona's Bo-gi (Power's sire)

Vita Nova's Celesto (Power's paternal grandsire)

Leuns Velds Elegant (Power's damsire)

In addition to siring exceptional winners in the breeding ring,
Power himself comes from a talented and winning performance family.
